PCN and NPI
As many of you are aware, May 23, 2008 is an important deadline for all of us. That is the date when healthcare providers will be required to provide only their National Provider Identifiers (NPIs) on all Medicare paper and electronic claims for reimbursement. For more information about Sage PCN Health Network and Sage PCN MENDS and the handling of legacy IDs please visit the Sage PCN: Suppressing Legacy ID Numbers page.
Sage PCN Health Network version 1.9.0 (for UNIFY) and version 2.3.0 (for Oracle), and Sage PCN MENDS version 3.3.0 allow you to be compliant FOR NPI electronic (EDI) claims. These versions are in the process of being sent to our customers. When you receive your update, it is imperative that you install it and begin testing with active payers. If you have not yet installed your update and have misplaced your disk, please call 1-877-932-6301 and choose option 1 to be sent another disk.
Sage PCN Health Network version 1.9.1 (for UNIFY) and version 2.3.1 (for Oracle), and Sage PCN MENDS version 3.3.1 will allow you to be compliant with NPI paper professional (CMS 1500) and institutional (UB-04) claims. We will begin mailing upgrade disks to our active customers in February.
