The Doctors Office Quality - Information Technology (DOQ-IT) program is a national initiative of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services that promotes the adoption of electronic health records (EHR). About DOQ-IT
Under the DOQ-IT program, practices are encouraged to adopt an EHR capable of capturing structured data and the ability to demonstrate, with standardized clinical measures, that quality of care is improved through the use of electronic health records. Areas of focus include chronic care (diabetes, heart failure, coronary artery disease, hypertension, depression and osteoarthritis), as well as preventive care. DOQ-IT measures are in line with performance standards recommended by the medical community, including the AMA and the National Quality Forum.
